The International Baloch Rights Organization, commenced a series of protests on Sunday to mark the Pakistani Occupation of Balochistan, observed annually on March 27. The BNM’s first protest took place in Berlin and Germany.
In a statement posted on X, the BNM highlighted March 27 as Black Day as Pakistan Army forcibly annexed Balochistan o, terming it a “black day” in Baloch history. The press release underscored the Baloch people’s continuous rejection of Pakistani occupation and their enduring resistance against it.
During the protest in Berlin, members of the BNM aimed to raise awareness among the public about the atrocities inflicted by Pakistan on the Baloch community. They also provided insights into the historical background of Pakistan’s occupation of Balochistan’s land.
Hammal Baloch, a member of the BNM’s Germany chapter, expressed the gravity of the occasion, stating, “This is a black day in Baloch history, the darkest day, but the Baloch nation will alter the tide of time in its favor.”
Asghar Ali, President of the BNM’s Germany Chapter, addressed the audience, emphasizing the national duty to resist oppression. He remarked, “For a more significant national cause, we must emerge from the confines of our homes and unite under a broader prism of national unity to rid ourselves of the slavery we’ve endured for the past 76 years.”
Speaking to the press, Ali reiterated the Baloch people’s historical separation from Pakistan and their ongoing struggle for liberation. He asserted, “Balochistan has never been a part of Pakistan, and the world should acknowledge and accept this reality.” Ali vowed to continue efforts until Balochistan is freed from Pakistani oppression.
Shar Hassan, Joint Secretary of the BNM’s Germany Chapter, urged the German government to halt the supply of weapons to Pakistan, alleging their use by the Pakistan Army to suppress Baloch civilians. He urged international intervention to address the ongoing human rights violations in Balochistan.
