Today, the third UAE aid vessel embarked on its journey from the Port of Fujairah, carrying 4,630 tonnes of essential humanitarian provisions destined for the Gaza Strip via the city of Al Arish, Egypt. This initiative, known as Operation “Gallant Knight 3,” underscores the UAE’s commitment to supporting the Palestinian people in their time of need.
The ship’s cargo includes 4,218.3 tonnes of food, 370.2 tonnes of shelter materials, and 41.6 tonnes of medical supplies, alongside six water tanks, two septic tanks, and one diesel storage tank. These provisions were generously provided by the Emirates Red Crescent, the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, and the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation. A fleet of 267 trucks facilitated the loading of these supplies onto the vessel.
Operation Gallant Knight 3 encompasses various initiatives aimed at alleviating the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Among these initiatives are the establishment of two field hospitals, one within the Gaza Strip and the other in the form of a floating hospital stationed off the coast of Al Arish city. Additionally, five automatic bakeries have been set up to provide essential food items. Furthermore, flour has been distributed to eight existing bakeries in Gaza, while six desalination plants have been erected, producing 1.2 million gallons of clean water per day. This water is then distributed throughout the Gaza Strip, benefiting over 600,000 individuals.
In a recent development, the Joint Operations Command initiated Operation “Birds of Goodness” to provide humanitarian aid to isolated regions in the northern Gaza Strip that are inaccessible by land. To date, a total of 486 tonnes of relief and humanitarian supplies have been airdropped to these areas, ensuring that even the most remote communities receive much-needed assistance.
The UAE’s steadfast commitment to aiding the Palestinian people during their time of hardship is reflected in these comprehensive efforts. Through Operation Gallant Knight 3 and other humanitarian initiatives, the UAE continues to stand in solidarity with the people of Gaza, providing vital support and resources to alleviate their suffering and promote stability in the region.
